DocsReviewing work
Approve, reject or ask for a revision
Every submission waits for your decision before a worker is paid. Here is where to find submissions, what you see, and what each choice does.
Where submissions appear
New submissions show up the moment workers send them. Home shows how many submissions are waiting for your review, and each campaign with work to check has a Review button.
You can also go to Campaigns and open a campaign. The campaign page shows counters for Submissions, To review, Approved, Revision asked and Rejected, followed by the list of submissions.
- Use the filter buttons above the list to show All, Working now, To review, Approved, Revision asked or Rejected.
- Working now lists workers who are doing the task right now. Choose View Live to follow their progress.
- A submission marked Disputed has an open dispute about a revision request.
What you see in a submission
Choose View on a submission to open Campaign Submission Details. You see the worker, when they submitted, how long they spent, the status and the proof you asked for: text, screenshots, a video, or the answers to your template. For campaigns that use a data file, Task data shows the row of your file the worker was given.
Hover over or tap the worker's name to see their country, tasks completed and success rate, unless their profile is private. Under Worker Actions you can also Add to Group, Exclude the worker from your future tasks, or Give Bonus.
Your three choices
Approve
Choose Approve. The worker is paid right away from the money reserved for that position. They receive the payment shown on the task minus the 10% service fee that workers pay.
Reject
Choose Reject, write why the submission is rejected and choose Confirm Rejection. The reason is sent to the worker. The reserved payment and its fee go back to your available balance, and the position opens again for another worker. If the campaign was completed, it becomes active again.
Request Revision
Choose Request Revision, explain what needs to be fixed and choose Send Revision Request. The worker gets your note on screen and, if they allow it, by email. The money stays reserved while you wait.
How revisions work
You can ask for up to 3 revisions per submission. After that you can only approve or reject.
While a revision is requested, the worker can redo the task using your note, withdraw the submission, or open a dispute if they think your request is unfair. When they resubmit, the submission comes back to you marked Resubmitted with its revision number, and you review it again. If they withdraw, the reserved payment and fee return to your balance.
Tip: Write revision notes as concrete steps, for example: Your screenshot is cropped. Send one that shows the whole page including the URL bar.
The review period (Time to Rate)
When you create a campaign you choose a Time to Rate between 1 and 30 days. Each day costs $0.02 and is part of the campaign cost shown before you launch.
This is how long you have to review a submission. It counts from the moment the worker submitted. A submission that is still waiting for review when the time runs out is approved automatically and the worker is paid, just as if you had approved it yourself.
Important: Automatic approval can't be undone. If you need more time to check work, choose a longer Time to Rate when you create the campaign.
Message workers while they work
When you open View Live for a worker who is doing your task, you can send them a short message of up to 500 characters. It shows on their screen right away. After each message there is a short wait before you can send another.
Use it to point out a problem before they submit, which saves you both a revision.
How your decision affects the worker
Every approval or rejection counts toward the worker's success rate, which is shown on their profile and can decide which tasks they may join. A revision request doesn't count on its own; only the final decision does.
Your own approval rate is shown on your public requester profile and is updated with every decision.
Tip: Reject only work that clearly ignores your instructions. When the work is close, a revision request is fairer to the worker and usually gets you what you need.
Common questions
Can I change my mind after rejecting a submission?
There is no undo button. The worker can appeal the rejection within 7 days, and our staff decide. If an appeal is approved, the payment and fee are charged to your balance again.
What happens if the worker deleted their account?
Nobody can be paid or revise the work. Approving or rejecting the submission returns the reserved payment to your balance.
Do I pay the 10% fee again when I approve?
No. Your 10% platform fee was included when you funded the campaign. Approving only releases the reserved payment to the worker.
