DocsQualification tests
Create a qualification test
A qualification is a short test. Workers who pass it can take the campaigns that require it, so only people who know the job get your work.
What qualification tests are for
Use a qualification when your campaign needs a specific skill, such as careful labeling, a language, or following detailed rules. You build the test once, workers take it, and you decide who passed. Then you add it to a campaign as a requirement.
Each worker can take a qualification only once. You find all your tests under Qualifications in the dashboard menu.
Step 1: Qualification setup
Start a new qualification
Click New qualification on the dashboard home, or Create your first qualification on the Qualifications page.
Pick the Qualification Type
Choose Questions to build the test from blocks, or Custom Template to use one of your qualification templates.
Enter a Qualification Title
Workers see this title, so make it clear what the test is about.
Add content
Add a Quotation Area for instructions, then add questions. You can mix as many blocks as you need.
Question types
For every question you choose what the worker should answer with: Text, Checkbox (several options can be right) or Radio (one option is right). Checkbox and Radio questions need at least one option.
| Block | What the worker sees |
|---|---|
| Quotation Area | Text without an answer prompt. Use it for instructions, examples or a link. |
| Question | A question with an answer field (text, checkbox or radio). |
| Quote Question | A longer text followed by a question about it. |
| Image Question | An image you upload, with a question about it. |
| Video Question | A video you upload, with a question about it. |
Tip: For radio and checkbox questions, mark the correct answers. This shows up in your review and lets you turn on automatic approval.
Using a template instead of questions
Qualification templates are custom HTML forms that workers fill in directly. You create them in the Templates section with Create Template. Standard form fields (input, textarea, select, checkbox, radio) are captured when the worker submits.
Choose Custom Template as the Qualification Type and select a template. Placeholders are filled in campaigns only; in a qualification they are shown as written. A template can be graded automatically if you pick the right answers for its fields, otherwise you review every submission yourself.
Step 2: Worker criteria
- Workers Targeting: General Workforce or Worker Group.
- General Workforce: choose a region (International, Latin America, USA - Western, West Europe, East Europe, Asia and Africa), then include or exclude countries. At least one country must stay included.
- Qualification Positions: how many workers can pass. Rejected submissions don't use up a position.
- Minimal Worker Tasks Success Rate: 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 or 100 percent.
- Worker Group: positions are set by the capacity of your group.
- Worker Qualification Bonus (optional): a reward of at least $0.01 for workers who pass. It is only available when the test is approved automatically or runs on an external source.
Costs
The Review and submit step shows an Estimated cost before you submit. The total is taken from your balance and reserved when you create the test.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Base Fee | $2.00 |
| Each question or statement (Questions type) | $0.01 |
| Each position (General Workforce) | $0.01 |
| Worker bonus (General Workforce) | Bonus x positions |
| File uploads and reference images | $0.05 per 100 MB |
| External Source Fee | $1.00 |
Tip: A worker who passes receives 90% of the bonus amount you set.
Review and going live
Every qualification is reviewed by our team before it goes live. Clear, step-by-step instructions get approved fastest. Trusted requesters are approved automatically.
While a qualification is waiting for approval, no worker has seen it. If you delete it then, the reserved amount goes back to your balance. Once it is active you can use Pause qualification and Resume qualification.
Require it in a campaign
When you create a campaign, open the worker criteria step and pick your test under Required Qualification (Optional). Only active or completed qualifications are listed. Only workers who have passed it can work on that campaign.
Reviewing submissions
Open a qualification from the Qualifications page to see its submissions. For tests with manual review, every submission waits for you. Click Approve or Reject on each one.
To approve every pending submission at once, use Approve all. This can't be undone. You can also send an extra bonus to all approved workers with Give bonus to all approved.
Important: You can't approve more workers than you have positions. When a submission with a bonus is rejected, the reserved bonus returns to your balance.
Common questions
Can a worker retake my test?
No. Each worker can submit a qualification once. A rejected worker frees the position for someone else.
Can I use a bonus with manual review?
No. The Worker Qualification Bonus requires automatic approval or an external source.
Why can't I select my qualification in a campaign?
Only active or completed qualifications can be required. A test still waiting for approval won't appear.
