Create a campaign

A campaign is a paid task that many workers can do. The form has three steps: Campaign setup, Worker criteria, and Review & submit. Here is what each field means and what happens after you submit.

Before you start

Add funds first. The full cost of a campaign is reserved from your balance when you submit it, and the Submit button turns into Insufficient Balance if you don't have enough.

Open New campaign in the side menu. At the top of the form you can expand What workers can't be asked to do. Tasks that break these rules, such as installing software, paying for anything, free trials or fake reviews, are rejected in review.

Step 1: Campaign setup

1

Campaign Type

Choose Instructions to describe the task in your own words, or Custom Template to use an HTML form you built under Templates. A template can also take a CSV data file, where each row becomes one task.

2

Campaign Title

A short, clear name of up to 100 characters. Workers see it in their task list.

3

Campaign Category

Pick the category that fits the work. Some categories add fields: testing, social media, SEO, sign-up and review tasks need a Task URL, and tagging, annotation, transcription, categorization and moderation tasks need files for workers. Local Field Tasks and Mystery Shopping need a Task Location on the map, with a radius between 50 and 50,000 meters. Voice Recording, Video Recording and Photo Collection turn on the matching proof type automatically, because the worker's upload is the result.

4

Task Instructions

Explain the task step by step, in up to 5,000 characters. You can also add up to 10 reference images that workers see above the instructions.

5

Time to Complete

How many minutes a worker has once they start, from 1 to 120.

6

Worker Payment per Task

What you pay for each approved task. The minimum is $0.12.

7

Time to Rate

Your review period, from 1 to 30 days. Submissions you haven't reviewed by then are approved automatically.

8

Proof Requirements

Tick Workers are required to submit task completion proof(s), then choose text, image and video proof and describe exactly what you need. See the Proof types guide.

9

Drip feed (optional)

Release the task to small batches of random workers instead of everyone at once. You set a range of 1 to 50 workers per batch and a release interval from every 15 minutes to every 24 hours. The form shows an estimate of how long it takes to fill all positions.

Tip: For video links on Media Streaming Platforms, the form detects the video and can ask workers to like, comment or subscribe. For Reddit links under Social Media Engagement, it detects the post, comment or community. For each action you can choose what share of workers gets it.

Step 2: Worker criteria

Under Choose Workers, pick General Workforce or Worker Group. For the general workforce you choose a region and countries, the Task Positions (at least 10), the Minimal Worker Tasks Success Rate and, if you like, a Required Qualification. For a worker group you simply pick one of your groups.

The Workers you can reach box estimates how many workers match your settings and how many of them were active recently. See the Targeting and worker groups guide for details.

Step 3: Review & submit

Check the summary of everything you entered. The Estimated cost panel lists the base fee, workers payment, 10% platform fee, time to rate fee and any extras, with the total. Choose Submit to create the campaign. The total is moved from your available balance to Reserved for live work.

Approval before going live

Every new campaign is reviewed by TaskerData before workers can see it. While it waits, its status is Pending (or In review). Clear, step-by-step instructions get approved fastest. Trusted requesters are approved automatically, so their campaigns go live right away.

While a campaign is still pending you can open it and choose Delete & refund. The whole reserved amount goes back to your available balance. If TaskerData rejects a campaign, you get a message with the reason and the full cost is returned.

After launch

  • Pause campaign stops new workers from starting it. Resume campaign makes it live again. After pausing, you have to wait 15 minutes before you can pause again.
  • Raise payout on the campaign page increases the payment for the positions still open. It can only go up, and you pay the difference plus 10% for the remaining positions.
  • Setup & targeting shows all settings. From there you can edit the targeting while the campaign is pending, live or paused.
  • When all positions are filled the campaign is Completed. Completed and terminated campaigns have a Run again button that creates a new campaign with the same settings, instructions, proof and files. You can change the title, positions and payout, and exclude workers who did the original.

Important: You can't delete a campaign once it is live. Pause it if you need to stop new work.

Common questions

How long does approval take?

It depends on the review queue. You get a message and a notification when the campaign is approved. Trusted requesters skip the wait.

Can I change the instructions after launch?

No. You can raise the payout and edit the targeting. To change the task itself, let the campaign finish and use Run again, or create a new campaign.

Why are the positions locked for my campaign?

For Image Tagging the positions match the number of images you upload (at least 10). For a template with a data file they come from the number of rows, workers per row and rows per task.
